Seek opinions on extended warranty

As many of you already know, I'm the proud owner of a new "08 SC580.

During the purchase process, I opted to purchase an extended 84 month, 84,000 mi warranty from a GMAC company that covers the mechanical and Callaway installed components (I was told that the Callaway was not eligible for the usual GMPP warranty which I have used on previous vettes). There is a 60 day cancellation privilege.

I'm not generally a fan of service contracts/warranties but my reasoning was that (on a specialty hi performance car) this could be an advantage in the event I choose to sell (upgrade to C16??) at some future date.

I am new to Callaway but very aware of the reputation for reliability of this product. I know there must be many of you out there who have logged many miles in these cars and I welcome your opinions!

BTW, the cost of this warranty was $2295. I still have plenty of time to cancel and get all the $ back...what do you all think??;help

Congratulations again!!

I have also mentioned to team Callaway that they need to develop an extended warranty which should be purchased before the original warranty expires to provide continuous coverage. I don't think that it is urgent for them at this time since the '08 warranties will not be expiring for some time. I am confident that this is something that they plan to address when the time gets closer.
