My '66 doesn't cancel the right turn signal after I turn and there's not much hope of me hearing the flasher tink with a big block and side pipes. So I ride around looking like an old fool a lot of times. Now that I have my steeering column on the bench I guess it's a good time to replace or fix what ails it. Ok, so what ails it and how do I fix it? :confused It is not a telescopic or tilt wheel, just the standard column.

In my case, you can see the little broken nylon leg sitting on the bottom of the steering hub cover.

Just a sidebar. That turn signal switch is unique to 1967-68: squeezed between the introduction of four-way flashers in 1967 and the introduction of the steering column ignition in 1969. They are hard to find as most catalogues show N/A or discontinued. And when I did that job, LIC was in the same situation although generally they have a pretty fair inventory. With the help of the NCRS people I was able to locate one in Arizona. I forget the name of the company but will pull out the receipt if anyone needs one.

Can't say it any better than that.

I'll say! Thanks a lot, I couldn't have asked for any better direction! :D

So whats worse then driving with the blinker on for over a half mile?

Is driving in a new car, with the blinker on for over a half mile and a bell starts going off,and you start thinking 'What the heck is that bell" only to have your kids tell you your blinker is on and the bell is advising you of it.

I am only 42 and I seem to be turning into my grandfather allready,Notice I did not say my dad he has all of his wits about him.(he would not be caught dead with blinker left on)

My problem was that I had to hold the left blinker on manually. No click into place and automatic cancel on turning.
