A couple of weeks ago I started noticing the Service ASR light was coming on. At the same time, I would get a blinking SYS message in the speedometer display. If I shut off the car and then tried restarting it, it would turn over, but immediately die.
I would have to wait about 10 minutes before it would start up again.
More recently, when the Service ASR light comes on, instead of the SYS message, the Security light blinks every so often. I talked to a service manager at the local Chevy dealership, and he seemed to think that it was either the ignition module or the security system. The ignition module isn't too terribly expensive but apparently the security system is.
Does anyone have any other ideas about this, or do you concur that it's one of the 2 things I mentioned above?
