Good Day Gentleman and Ladies,
I am a new member of the website and am seeking some help and direction. I have a 1998 C4 and have been reading up on some threads regarding solutions to the Column Lock issue. Most recently the posts a of video conference at CruiseFest done recently seemed to be the best and most informative. The video related most of the problems dealt with an insufficient battery not providing the required voltage to react properly with the BCM. In response to that I have purchased a NAPA Legend 75 battery with 32 degree CA: 1020, 0 degree CCA: 875, and Reserve Capacity of 120, unfortunately that did not clear my Column Lock problem....Message still appears in the BCM and fuel cuts at approx. 3 mph. Next I went to the local Chevrolet dealer with my VIN. They ran a research query on the VIN and determined that the past recall had been performed on the vehicle......What do I do next keeping in mind I have basic maintenance and a slight bit of repair skills when it comes to automotive repair. I'm lost and not sure who to turn to or what to do next???????? :confused :W :mad . Is there any help out there???

I seem to be in the same boat with my C6 2005 (6 speed manual). I have mine parked in my garage and worry about towing it to the dealer for repair. I am very particular on the handling of my vette. Unfortunately, it won't start at all. I have had my battery on trickle charge and it should be fully charged. It is a new battery. :confused I am also trying to determine a solution to this problem. Can anyone assist?

Sorry to hear about your troubles too.....I'm hoping for some insight and solutions here and hope you find the same.....Very frustrating !!

To any helpers out there,,,,I mis-typed....My Vette is a 1998 C5 not a C4 as I previously indicated.

bwa...I am going to move this over to C5 Tech where it will receive more exposure. I'll also PM C4C5specialist to get him involved. We'll figure this out....:w
