Left my door ajar last week (dumb), and battery went dead on my '96 LT4. Recharged the battery, and all is well except:

My Service Eng Soon Light in the Driver Info Center is ON (Steady), do I have to go to the dealer to turn this off ... just hate to spend $75 if I don't have to...

Can not find anything in the manual to cover this situation

Thanks

Is the SES light on as soon as you restart the engine (comes on immediately and stays on?) and was never on prior to your battery going dead? You could disconnect the battery for a few minutes then reconnect and see if it cleared. I know a guy here with a code reader who can pull the stored problem codes but guys here on the forum know how to do it with a paperclip.
My SES was due to the MAF relays code 34 but I doubt that is your problem. Even then, it would clear after a re-start and come on again miles down the road.
Rest assured, there will be plenty of advice from pro members to follow...;)

Some additional info:
The SES light comes on as soon as I restart the engine

It was never on prior to my battery going dead

Clear after a re-start and come on again miles down the road?
Don't know ... once it came on and stayed on, I turned the
engine off ... never left the garage.

I will try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnect and see if it cleared.

Thanks for suggestion
