SES lite on P0400 - EGR

so possiblities are
Blocked passage on EGR system
failed EGR valve
EGR solenoid faulty

So would it be better just to replace the EGR valve and solenoid ?
or replace one and see then the other ?

So I go and get the valve and on the way home the light goes off, go figure

HI there,
Could be either a sticky solenoid or a bad valve.
Valves dont fix themselves.
Sometimes solenoids do unstick.
