:coolWhere is the control module that controls the alarm, door locks and trunk release located in the C5. I have a shaved door handle kit and I have to install their control module that has a alarm, trunk release, and power lock control with FOB's. I was wondering why I couldn't just couldn't hook the solenoid from the kit up to the exsisting system, there really seem's to be no difference in what they sell you and what the corvette has, the only difference is the solenoid. Can someone who knows about this help!!

Ok... so you are asking if you can add the solenoids to the Vette's harness & systems as opposed to using the graft-on system.

I think this can be done. Unfortunately I'm sketchy on the details of exactly how to do it.

What I think you'd need to do... is to essentially fool the BCM (or hijack the signal from the BCM) into using the outputs for the unlock function to trigger the solenoids while using still using the lock function to lock the doors.

Sound right so far? You'd need to make sure you set the user preference to NOT unlock the doors unless specifically told to do so. It's kinda risky given the passive keyless feature and some other convenience features. You'd have to be dead sure it wouldn't trigger a false door opening.

Is this what you were looking for? Hope this helps.

yeah that was kind of what I was looking for, ok but if I put the new control box in, what happens to the BCM? I can do motors all day but when it comes to eletrical, forget it. See I want to hook it up but I have one person telling me I have to pull the BCm and I was like what? Any ideas or help is appreciated, where I live there is no one that does this stuff, so do a lot of figuring out with guys from the forums
