SHE RUNS!!!!!!!

finally got the motor in the car, waiting on a new detent cable, throttle body gasket kit, and a thermostat housing. which reminds me, the housing on a tpi is made for a very small outlet, how did those of you who did the tpi swap make the small neck fit the big inlet on the radiator? let me know what you think? next pic will be her in a cloud of smoke =) (after the break in of course ;) )

picture one.....

picture two.......

Very nice look; the all-black intake is a great a attention-grabber.

Just a thought, since you probably don't want to dismantle it at this point, but if you ever have the intake off, carefully sanding the powdercoat off the top of each of the cooling fins would give it a silver-black two-tone finish that would really match the similar finish on those valve covers.

Speaking of which, where did those come from? They're very nice, as well.

The Plenum isnt even moutned yet, was going to do that after the wires are ran tonight. and removing the plenum is so easy.....
The Valve covers are from PML expensive but well worth it, i love them, i had a hole machined on the drivers side rear for a k&n breather....... i believe the site is www.yourcovers.com they offer many valve cover styles, colors, anything...... very nice quality.... theyre acutally a major story in this months Chevy High Performance mag....... that'll make em more known so get em before the whole country does..... Thanks for the comment =)

upper radiator hose i found one from a 96 caprice that fit perfect,i work on police cars for a municipality so we have lots of spare parts to go through, the caprice one fit perfect. You did a real nice job looks great,i love those valve covers.

AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE RUNS!!!!!!!!!! after about 2 hours of trying to match up the timing she fired up and she is the loudest car ever..... those southwest mufflers are definately a track thing..... guess ill have to make my flowmasters work...... anyways, a few things scared me to death....... 1 smoke......... i wasnt aware that the headers and heads and basically anythign with that paint will smoke and burn off..... i thought somethign bad happend..... second shes running a little lean.... since its tpi can i adjust my fuel pressure regulator to get a lil more gas? after i get these issues resolved im going to finish the break in ans i cant wait till i take her out for a spin =) im the happiest man alive........ the beast is reborn =)

ps thanks pat, that hose was an amazingly perfect fit.

another thing, i think ill have to mount the flowmasters under the passenger compartment with turnouts to the sides but what kind of metal should i use to use as a "heat shield for the floorboard? sheetmetal? thick aluminum?

Yes, although you might want to find a shop with a wide-band lambda sensor, with experience tuning fuel injection, since they will be able to more accurately adjust things. Plus, they'll probably have a dyno, so you can find out how much power you're making :)

sounds like ill drive her lean till i get there, how dangerous is that? i dont want her to detonate....... also i have a k&n air filter that mounts to the TB itself but wont fit because of the TPS and water neck, soooooooo what do i do?

im surprised your running lean with 26# injectors,im running 24#'s in mine and im rich at idle,38 lbs fuel pressure, you can get an adjustable regulator and bump up the pressure some.On the air cleaner think you could get a 86-87 firebird air duct that turns 90 degree and mount that on it then the k&n on that.your welcome on the hose.

Today im taking my fuel rail off and haveing the injectors tested. a friend mentioned they may be "tight" after sitting for 6 months in air..... i dotn see how that would present a problem but ill try it..... it will also tell me if theyre really 26#'ers..... thats how i bought them on ebay, i hope this isnt my first ebay dealing to go sour........ if so, ill get a new set and sell mine... for some reason theres a climb on stock injector buyers, and higher flows are gettign cheaper (gas prices i think) can i get higher ones (30#'s) and kick it down lower witht the regulator? so i have more room if i ever add a procharger of some type? if i do that do i have to have the computer reprogrammed? of just fiddle with the regulator?

30's might be too big,get in touch with jeff debuhr- -=Jeff=- hes a moderator in the c4 tech section on this forum, hes working on my chip, ask him what he thinks about the 30 lb injectors ,youll definitely have to do something with the chip.when you get the injectors out heres a good chart with alot of injector numbers.

since i got my syetem from affordible-efi they will program my chip as much as i want for free... i just need to tell them whats changed.... ill talk to jeff and see whats goin on w/30's.....

Oh ya, im in love with your hood, do you have any other closer pics of it? i want something like that for my gauges underneath the cowl
