shift boot is loose

The 4 screws holding the shift boot have come loose. Is there an easy way for a mechanically challenged person to fix???

Really, I've never had any problem with my shifter boot so I can't offer you any advice, and @ this point in time I haven't bought a service manual (I've borrowed my buddies a few times).

Guess I just didn't want you to think nobody's reading your post. I'm sure someone will get back with you soon.

I'll take a look see and get back........soon as I can.......probably Sat afternoon late........
ok...took a look see:
remove the center dash bezel then ........the console top.......the screws are under the console plate.............hope this helps:s :s

 

[No Go]

Mine ended up getting stripped so only decent fix was a new console setup-about $180!

I even tried a shift boot from Ecklers or Mid America...too cheesey for me...
