I recently bought a 2004 c5 convertible and it needed of a new shift cable.
I bought one, and am having a problem getting it adjusted after the install.
The shifter, and lever on the transmission are both in the neutral position, but the cable at the transmission end is about an inch or so from lining up with the lever on the transmission.
I tried the adjustment on the back end of the cable,and still it is no where near the rod on the shift lever on the transmission.
I removed it,measured it against the old shift cable, and they are the same length.
This really has me wondering what the problem is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
