Shift Knob

How do you remove the auto shift knob on my 85'?.....It's in good condition and i hate to tear it up..I also wanna take time to say this site and the guys on here are great !! Thanks ahead of time

Take two SMALL flat screwdrivers & go between the button and the knob & POP the button out of the knob. (be gentle) there is a snap-ring down inside,remove it & the knob will slide off. Good luck!!!!!:L
