OK, here is a question...

We were cruising back from Helen this weekend and I noticed the SHIFT now light came on every once in a while. Now if my car was a straight shift, I would expect this, but with an automatic?

My car is 1991 - 350, automatic tranny.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have just never seen this with an automatic.

Thanks everyone!!!

I woudn't buy any stock in this, but I either read or heard that If you left the A4 in 3 & go over 55MPH for a set amount of time the upshift light will come on.

I know my 90 manual used to do that if I stayed in 5th over 55 or so.

Next time I get the A4 out I'm gonna check it. I looked all thru the maint manuall & found Nada. Don't have my owners manual; here, anybody know?:Steer :Steer :beer

Has the gears or rear end been changed that you know of?
If so you might have the wrong speed sensor in there.
Mine comes on also, because I've never got around to changing it out, only the plastic speedo gears has been changed.
If your not sure, you might want to find this out, it could be your problem.
My 2 cents worth.
