Hey everyone,

I have a 2008 with 23k on it, and all of a sudden the button on the automatic shifter won't depress. :ugh Thus, my car is either in neutral or drive. It wont go in to any other gear, including S.

I took the top cover off, the button out, but I don't see anything broke. The little white piece that the button rides on moves, but it doesn't really push down that vertical cylinder under it.

Could this be an electric solenoid issue? ;shrug It seemed a bit tight a couple time getting in and out of Park, but today it just up and rebelled all together.

Any help would be appreciated! I didn't see any other post in the 27 pages that I went thru ;squint:

Today, the car is idling rough, the throttle is unresponsive, and its displaying 'reduced power' in the display. Could this be a throttle positioning sensor? Would that have anything to do with the shifter problem too?

Hello?? Anyone??

Update: Display now says 'fuel system needs servicing'....and driver window wont roll up...WTH???

Sorry, can't help. I haven't had any of those issues with either of ours.

This may not be your problem, but worth a look.

There have been many problems reported that display messages like you are seeing, and in many cases it is a weak battery.

Not sure the shifter button problem is among these, but the others may be related.

Good luck in resolving this.
