does the raptor shift light come on at the same point the "shift" message shows up in the HUD? I've been trying to figure out if that's at redline, or some point before? it all seems to happen so fast

A shift light is a great idea to get the most out of your driving performance. Can the shift light be set to a prescribed rpm level?

The Raptor shiftlight can be set to any RPM from 1,000 to 9,900 in 100 rpm incriments via the dial switches. That's why I like it. It doesn't use any "pills" that you have to change out.
I used to have a Harlan shiftlight and while that was good, you had to pull the shiftlight apart to access the dip switches. The Raptor shiftlight has an access panel molded in to the housing that enables you to access the dial switches. It takes all of 5 seconds to change the settings if you want.
