Shocks for an 84

I have been looking at various shocks for my 84. Mid America has the Bilstein, KYB and also the Posi-Control Shock Set (Their own brand?). The Posi-Control claims to be great for smoothing out the 84 harsh ride. Anyone put these things in? If you did, what were your impressions?

I have a near-new pair of rear Bilsteins in the box; half (of new) price? They are the mid-stiffies.

I had my original Bilsteins rebuilt and revalved to GS specs by the factory. This rubberless Z-51 has a pretty decent ride, now.

I have the KYB's on my 84 and like them alot. I have the Z51 suspension and I don't find the ride that harsh.

WhalePirot who rebuilt your Bilstein shocks? My left rear one, when Sears did the alignment they said it was leaking, and I think it is making a little noise now so its buy new ones or rebuild them.

The Bilstein people in San Diego. I am not certain if this is still a cost effective or even available option.

I have extolled the performance of the KYBs since I got them last year. They are wonderful budget shocks and perform every bit as well as the stock Bilsteins.

Had KYBs on a C3 coupe... Loved them, very progressive , comfy when cruising and firm when carviing the twisties. Great prices for these.

Not to sound cheap but I will look thru all the catologs for best price. I have a 84 w/z51pkg., I used the KYB shocks and love them I bought them from auto zone same ones as mid Amer., but cost way less! I also bought Energy suspension bushing kit from jegs part # 355-3-18122G $176.00 BIG CHANGE in ride and handeling car cuts cornors like a knife!!
