Need a pointer or two in the right direction. When i get the car up to around 55 and then slow down I get a shudder from the left/rear of the vehicle. I have tried to duplicate at lower speed while applying brake but it don't do it. Wife left the emergency brake on for about a mile when we first got the car, so was thinking it was the brakes. Any ideas, pointers to look for. I am going out this afternoon to check ujoints and brakes. And pull on wheel to check the bearings.

sounds like you need to turn the rotors in the rear... i also suggest you bleed the brakes and put on new rear pads while you have things apart.

I wanted to do the c4 to c5 brake upgrade by VBP, but think that upgrade is also new rims. what do you think the wear depth of rotors should be? Can't blame wife for having new car, she stays out of the 74 now...

Jack the rear of the car up and while turning the tire watch the half shafts....sounds like you got some u-joint problems. Mine did the same thing and Vigman pointed me in the right direction. Seems the u-joints had no needle bearings left. The rear wheels only have a bottom trailing arm, the half shafts provide upper support to the tire, when the joints go bad it allows the tire to move giving you the shudder and a bit of wiggle in the rear.
