I am considering having the hooker header and side pipe kit installed on my 75 and wanted to hear from anybody who has done this or has looked into it.
thanks

Been running them for many years, as a matter of fact, I'm on my second set. They making working underneath the car a dream. If you want quiet go with the Hooker muffler inserts, if you want power, go with the JCL spiral inserts. Will burn your leg in a split second! Charles

where did you get your side pipes, I have looked at SummitRacing.com so far.

I've had this set on about 5 years. Purchased from a now defunct speed shop in St. Louis. Summit has good prices on stuff though and they are easy to deal with if an item gets damaged enroute.

I put them on my 78 Daytona and LOVE them. The LOOK, The SOUND is great. There is nothing like it. When you get the car in the air to work under it there is nothing in the way. It is a pain to get a jack under it if you get a flat tire, but that is minor. You do lost some ground clearance. I would not think twice about installing them on another vette if I get one.

I have seen them on E bay from time to time.

Side Pipes

I have them on my 76, came with the car. Hooker has 2 muffler inserts, I used the closed chamber ones. The others were too loud for me on a long drive.
My only comment, is that you will loose the area under the frame just behind the front wheel to place a jack stand. If you buy them in black, strip that paint and buy a good high temp paint. The hooker paint scratches off very easily.

I absolutely love them on my 76. I have the JCL spriral inserts, and let me tell you, they make all the difference in the world. The hooker headers reverse flow still has a noticable restriction. They sound amazing. Car will sound like a real bad a$$
