Ive been thinking about installing side pipes on my '75 ...
I really like that look but that would mean getting rid of my hooker headers and stainless exhaust system ..... flowmasters which sound great ...

Has anyone else made the switch and regretted it ? Other then the predictable burn marks on the back of the legs ...

thanks

Had them on an old white 76 about 15 years ago. They were awesome. LOUD too, To me, sounds better than flows. Not to mention you could sell your current setup on here and re coup most of your funds.
Main thing is this. It is yours, what do YOU want? :)

I absolutely LOVE the sound of a set of side pipes. There is nothing better than the SPIT, SNARL, and GROWL.

I'm waiting on the set I've ordered for my 1980. My '80 will be the second Vette I've put side pipes on. As soon as I get them put on... I'll post pictures. Until then... here's what they looked like on my last Vette

You may want to get a set of the hooker header side pipes as opposed to the 69 style. They flow better

You have to install sidepipe headers which requires an outward bend towards the rocker panel and frame.

They look great on your last vette ... and I like that "fin" style cover better then the smooth ....Some one suggested ,because of the heat, that I lay a heavy cloth over the pipes when the wife is getting out of her side of the car ...
pffffftttt And who said chivalry was dead ? .....

you can just fab up new extenders.. to each his own..

i like the look of the side pipes not the exit strategy! lol

That looks good, and probably sounds better.
I'd love sidepipes.
From looking at that picture it seems that you loose some ground clearance. In my town, I practically run a slalom to avoid potholes. I don't know if i can afford to loose an inch.

Good LUCK!

Yeah ,,thats what im looking for ....they look great.
Where did you get them Duke

Got em' on my 77 & love em'.
