What is the best (easiest/safest) way to remove the factory optional side spears?;shrug

I think use a heat gun on them and get behind them with fishing line-be slow and carefull!

Wait for a really hot summer day and wait until the panels are very warm.
I would be real careful of a heat gun!! Too much and it's bubble city.
Then use a long piece of dental floss/tape or similar- (Fishing line?? like ernestD noted) and floss your way through to cut the foam. Once the foam is cut and the spear is removed, use ronsonol or naptha to dissolve the remaining glue. Do not use other solvents as they will dissolve paint!
Try to save the old spears they are worth $$$$.
Good luck.

njlouc has some good advice. The Body Side Molding is not to everyone's taste, but if I bought a 2003 Anniversary Edition without them, I'd be looking for a set.

Good luck!!
