Sidepipes, anyone?

I will snap some pictures when I get a chance go over to were it is stored. I'm not
sure of how much HP you will gain but you will feel a change. My engine is stock
except for a new cam and it flies! There is no way around not having the side pipes
coated if you are coating the headers. They would not look right.

Photo-chopping

Well, I did a little photo editing. Here is my roxy with side pipes added in. The shine on the pipes might be a little off of real, but I think I like what I see! The image definitely helps developing what she'll really look like!

Like I said... C3's were meant to have sidepipes.

I just did a desktop dyno run on my current setup and then with the side pipes. It's predicting that I'm gonna free up about 35hp and 35 ft-lb torque. I hope these numbers are real! That's a little more than a seat of the pants increase!

I'm starting to get psyched about this project! The day dreaming has begun! I think the next day that it's not 30 degrees out, i'm gonna go sit in Roxy for a while.

You can bget even more power with spiral turbo baffles or no baffles!

I think I'm going to need some sort of sound dampening...I would like to keep the sound at a reasonable level so I can drive it!

reasonable is a relative word!

Just headers

Does anyone know the horsepower increase with just headers and not sidepipes? This is assuming headers and true dual exhaust, no cats. Looks like I've opted for the headers, true duals and will not use the sidepipes b/c of the burn issue to the legs with my bride. They look awesome but not for me. Just wondering how much "ump" I'll get with headers and duals. Anyone did a dyno with this configuration?

So I just took the cover off the 'vette and sat in her for a few minutes (for the first time since October). I was curious as to how far the pipes stick out the side of the car. It seems like it would be difficult to get ones legs out of the door and out far enough to not hit the pipes?

Well, I'm going to order up my sidepipes VERY soon. I am pretty sure that I'm going to go with the Jet Hot coating. The one question I have before ordering the pipes is where do I need to tell them to put the O2 sensor bung?

Any other tips I should know about before I order these puppies?

I'm getting all excited... I put the vette back on the road today!

I don't know much about the 02 sensors, I didn't have any on the 76. If you have A/C I would not get the A/C bracket, but fabricate your own. I actually got the A/C bracket and it didn't even fit and then I saw the headers install faq at www.corvettefaqs.com and just cut mine to fit. Not sure how that works on your year. Finally I would make sure that before you put the pipes on the headers that you put anti-seize on the mating points. That way if you ever need to get the pipes off later you have a fighting chance.

I am fairly short ay 5'5", yet my legs are plenty long to avoid leg burn issues. after a month or 2 it becomes second nature. warn your passengers once, twice, 3 times if it's a lady and it'll be a-ok

I will get back to you on the location this weekend. The bung will be on the driver
side header. It must be in an area so the sensor will not hit the frame. I had to send
my header back to Jet Hot for a "do over". I don't want this to happen to you!

Steve, get a chance to look up this info yet?
