I was noticing that in all (I think) photos and vette's I've seen on the street, that none of the cars have centerline racing stripes. I've seen stripes on photos of Grand Sports, but I've never seen any cars on the road that had stripes? Is there any factory significance to racing strips (centerline of hood to centerline of 'trunk' area) on a vette?
The reason I ask is that I just purchased my 85 coupe and it's torch red with stripes. The dealership I bought it from specialized in 'ricers' and trucks. I'm wondering I've I may have stumbled onto a silk purse in the pigpen, or did one of the previous owners simply put aftermarket stripes on the car.
Any ideas? I don't suppose anyone has an expiring carfax subscription that they could run my VIN to see if it reveals anything new?
thanks for any help
