Im looking at a singelmass conversion for my vette, using the camaro FW.
What work needs to be done to the camaro FW except balance it?
Will a camaro spring hub clutch disk with a OEM vette pplate hold for 450 hp + slicks? If not what to get?

Thanks

I can't speak with 100% accuracy to the applicationi of the F-car wheel, but I've heard enough anecdotal evidence of people using it to think it will work.

You're stuck with the OE-type Valeo pressure plate because of the pull-type clutch. One of the better sources for that PP is McLeod Industries in the U.S. They buy Valeo clutches in bulk, test each one then rebox them.

As for a disc, if you're going to use a F-car wheel, you're stuck with a single disc. you need a street high-performance or racing disc with a more aggressive facing and a sprung hub.

You mention slicks. That means to me you're going to do some serious drag racing. A better choice for that is the McLeod Street Twin 2-plate clutch. It uses the Valeo clutch but with a special aluminum wheel that allows use of two discs. That's probably a better choice for a C4 with 450hp and slicks.

Lastly, when replacing the dual-mass flywheel, even with a sprung hub, expect a noticeable increase in gear ratttle from the ZF at idle.

McLeod Industries is in California, USA. Tel: 714-630-2764 Ask to speak to Red Roberts or George Kohler.
