Have you seen the list of Corvettes going up for auction at B-J this month? There must be over 100 - and probably half of those are C1/C2s. Just about all of them are Top Flight/Gold/Duntov... yikes. They have pictures and a short bio of each car on the website (www.barrett-jackson.com). It will be interesting to see how much they sell for. Any bets on which one will get top $$? The ProTeam guys are selling "Scotty" (Lot #993) - I'm thinking that one could grab top honors.
Makes for some fun daydreaming. So if the genie in the lamp granted your wish to take ONE of these beauties home, which one would you choose? Lot #55 (a silver blue '58) caught my eye, or #973... no wait - #1026... ahh forget it!

yeah, and all of those TOP FLIGHTS, Bloomington Golds, etc. were only for a given day - it doesn't mean they still are! Scotty will probably be the $$$$$$ Vette, but I am sure there are some lurking Custom Rods or Gull Wings that will be the top $$$$$ car of the show

Since I already have my vettes, I love to see sky high prices on similar cars, but these overinflated prices are reallity bad for the enthusiast, as many may never be able to buy thier dream car. another thought... how long can this trend hold out? I still remember the late 80's early 90's and the rock hard crash many high end cars took. Dennis

Just hope the fellow in the Yellow Jacket who drove the price of the yellow camaro SKY HIGH last year is there again to bid on some vettes, It seems the scottsdale auction sets the barometer of what vette pricing will be for the coming season,Every one quotes last years scottsdale pricing to justify the HIGH prices our vettes are bringing.

I purchased TiVo to make sure I dont miss a minute of the auction on speed vision. I cant wait to hear that dummies comments on the vettes this year

Let's not forget the Callaway SuperSpeedster that is also to be auctioned. I watched get up to $245k at Bloomington Gold over the summer and was a no sell because of the reserve. It will be with no reserve at B-J. I wonder if the guy that bought the other SuperSpeedster at B-J (along with 3 other Callaways) last year will be there to pick this one up????

The guy who bid that Z/28 up to 112K because it matched his yellow sport coat wound up suing the previous owner for fraud when he found out a week later that the car was a made-up fake, which he could have figured out for himself if he knew anything at all about Camaros - it had a six-cylinder VIN number. He kept the car and got a fat settlement from the previous owner.

Three things amaze me here...
1. the yellow coat guy bids up a Camaro 2 or 3 times over reasonable price just because he liked the color.
2. the seller tried to unload a fake in such a high profile, high visibility auction.
3. how JohnZ knew this story!

Ahhhh... Good to here justice was done.... Watching the arrogant Yellow-Back throw his money around like paper was disturbing to say the least... I thought he was in it for his moment in the spotlight!! Who would ever own such an ugly jacket. 112k for a clone hee hee hee hee..... serves him right...
