Just very recently I am noticing a slight hesitation upon acceleration,
mainly in the higher gears (4 thru 6). My first thought is the 6 Spd
tranny and NOT the clutch. Your thoughts and suggestions.
Thankyou All. :thumb

watch the tach , is there an extra increase in RPM when you get on it in 5th and 6th ? Is it more so after driving a few miles and getting everything warmed up?

If a stick transmission is slipping, it will make noises only a repair shop could love.

I let my clutch go so long that when I would hit water puddles in the road, it would cause a slip.

It is unlikely the transmission is causing "hesitation".

If the clutch disc is worn to the point that it is slipping, that will first manifest itself in higher gears....4th - 6th, but I wouldn't really describe a slipping clutch as "hesitation".

If the clutch is slipping, if you open the throttle to accelerate, you'll hear and see (on the tach) the engine speed up but not see or feel a corresponding increase in acceleration. If you're looking at the tach, the tach will jump up but the car won't accelerate.
