smaller steering wheel?

was just wonderng if it was possible to get a slightly smaller (maybe 2 inches) steering wheel for my '69. Reason being, it is quite hard for me to get in/out of the car even with tilt/tele.

Its not much of a bummer if i cant, but it would be damn nice

It may be, but check your local laws. Undersize steering wheels are illegal in Maine, last I heard.

Grant has a line up that bolts directly in place of your stock wheel and uses the stock horn button. You can see your options at:

I think they sell them at Summit racing for about $100.

Even though they list it as 14" and the stock is 15", it sure feels like more than 1" smaller. I can take some measurements if your interested.

I have one and am considering going back to stock. I like it, but it may be a tad too small for my taste. I also do not have PS, so I also miss the extra mechanical advantage of the bigger wheel.

I've been running a smaller steering wheel for some time now and really like how it opened up the interior. My car is even tilt/tele and power assisted. It also has a fatter rim which to me is more comfortable. It might be an issue if a car is non-power steering assisted as you would lose some leverage by going to a smaller dia wheel. Anyway, I was able to find a steering wheel from one of the vette vendor catalogs that mimiced the stock wheel pretty good. It is an alumninum 3 spoke, even has the slots in the spokes like the original one. Direct bolt in,works with the tilt/tele feature and horn cap. The vendor escapes me right now, but check out the majors. Charles
