After driving for a little bit the vet started to smoke up from underneath. I dont think smoke coming out from the hood though. I think its just underneath the car any idea what it could be?

Also the back wheels make a loud noise. I think that it just might need new brakes though.

Possibly an oil leak dripping on hot exhaust. Is there any odor or after parking car for awhile do you notice any wet spots under the car?

Check to make sure your emergency brake is off. If it is on one wheel on the rear will be hot and smell like brake dust. Other than that it could be a multitude of things from a broken Heater hose to a huge oil leak from the cooler, sending unit, etc. The other thing is a stuck brake caliper. What does the smoke smell like? Antifreeze, oil, or brake dust? Good luck.

Mine occasionally has BOTH of those symptoms. Only when smoking the tires through a second gear shift, though!
Lots of smoke, noise from the rear tires...
Just kidding, the posts above cover it.;) :bu

Violator,

The ’94 I had began to billow smoke from underneath the car due to the speed sensor gasket on the side of my transmission failing.

The smoke had a distinct oil smell, you’ll recognize oil burning, it has that characteristic aroma. Definitely different from say a hot clutch or coolant.

Please keep us posted.
