Keep watching your oil levels, and if they get above the full mark then your problem is getting worse. Also keep checking the antifreeze, if your low coolant light comes on check the oil and see if you have any coolant in there. Do not run the car more then what is needed, replacing the head gasket is cheap, and easy compared to a full lower end rebuild.

97000 miles on my l98 the gasket broke. Redone my heads and 200 miles later I have blue smoke come from my left bank. Cars run good so will run it untill it messes with the spark plug, then will swap out the engine..

Looking at the plugs will tell you if there is oil fouling or coolant getting in, and into which cylinders. A compression check may yield further information about cracks or gasket issues.

The scavenging effect of the headers will affect the mixture, but should be within the allowed parameters of the ECM. If it is running rich, the exhaust will be blacker and it may be slowly fouling the CAT.
