Snap-On MT-406 volt ohm meter

I have a Snap-ON MT-406 that I am trying to repair for a friend. I need to know what batteries are required . I think that 2 of
batteries are 9V and I am not sure if they were wired in series or parallel .Snap-On sent me a manual but responded that the
did not have any information to support a meter that old.I am also interested in a wiring schematic .
