You know that bumper angle I moaned about recently? I ain't moanin' no more. I dropped by the body shop this morning and I spent an hour removing backup, licence and tail lights, bumpers and lower valance, etc. Sure is easy when everything is brand new. ;)

Now, Kurt steps up to do the nasty.

These are the babies that will be moved 1.5" higher (driver's side) and 0.75" higher (pass. side).

Gettin' ready for Carlisle. :_rock

ok...Heaven....you need to explain to me what you are up to...I am sorry to say..I don't get it.....can you share?????

Holy cr*p Bob!!! Aren't you cutting it a little close for Carlisle? (no pun intended).

Good thing you didn't take it to Barry's body man..... Probably get it back next May.

That's a fast shop. Not a lot of those around these days. I just got on a 2 year waiting list to get my body work and paint done. It will probably take that long to save up enough for the job.

hey now Paul, be nice!

matter of fact, mine is going back to my guy on Wed to have a few areas re-wetsanded and the entire car buffed over again so it looks good for Carlisle. :D

Today, the holes were filled with mat and resin and the preliminary work is to the stage that, tomorrow, we'll temporarily re-fit the bumpers and then mark where to bond the pieces that were cut off.

Next, pull the bumpers off again and bond the pieces on. Wednesday will be final prep, taping, etc...........Thursday base and clear.

Zoom, zoom. ;)

Without even so much as a wince. As soon as I pointed it out, the boss said, "We'll make it right...........just say when you want it done."

Uh - wouldn't it have been easier to bend the bumper brackets?

No. Moving the bumpers up while leaving the raised fiberglass behind would have been a disaster.

As was explained in the other thread, the raised portions did not come on the new racing fenders since those cars have no bumpers.

The raised portions were simply cut off the original fenders and grafted on to the new fenders....but incorrectly.

Now, we're correcting the fit.

Seeing those pics of Kurt with the cutoff wheel made me feel like I had been kicked in the groin. :ugh Man, I feel queasy and it ain't even my car. :W
