Chrysler's "Firepower" V8 sports car may take aim at the C6.

(from autoweek.com)
Firepower ... is based on the V10 Viper’s architecture but uses the 6.1-liter, 425 hp, 420-lb-ft Hemi V8 that will see first light in the forthcoming 300C SRT-8. ...

Are you sure this is a Chrysler? It looks like a new Nissan 240 Z. ;LOL
Nice looking car, good to see more high HP cars comming our way.:_rock

My immediate thought several days ago when I saw photos of this concept car was that it beats the C6 hands down on styling. I'd buy it in a minute instead of a C6 if it were available. I have an advantage though. I don't want a vette I want a fast and attractive two seat american sports muscle car. Right now in my price range it's the C6. Nothing else comes close. The C6 style is a nice gentle evolution of the C5 styling but not particularly inspired or creative. The Firepower on the other hand seems both to me. Heck, the Saturn Sky ( I think that's what the new vert is called ) in my opinion is as sharp or sharper than the C6 vert in terms of appearance. BTW the 240 Z was one of the finest two seaters of its era. It was a shame that datsun let it grow old, slow, fat, and expensive. It was best in the beginning. Bring it on Chrysler.

The front end is ugly and must be like a brick in the wind, but other than that, the car is styled nice-long hood, short deck.

I think it resembles a dog's head. :puke I'm not just saying that because I'm a GM freak either... I used to own a 1984 Dodge 3/4 ton Shortbed w/ a 360 V8. I loved that truck until it hit a telephone pole. :hb

It does, that was my first thought as well. It even says 'Nissan' above the second pic. Subliminal message?

I like the way you worded that. "It" hit the pole. :L I've had some cars do strange things to me in the past too. Sometimes they just don't appreciate all the TLC you give them.

I think all of the viper body looks stupid too. When ever I see one I feel the need for big gold chains around my neck, wearing purple silk shirt opened to my naval, and dying my hair jet black.

Frankly, I think if Chrysler(and the Caddie CTS) would loose the ugly front ends they would be worth consideration.

yes, the viper suffers from hubris for sure...it kinda looks like an updated batmobile to me

When I first saw it I thought it looked good but on closer observation...there are two elements that I don't like. First is the HUGE blind spots on the rear quarters. Second is the grill, it looks as if it was just hung under the nose...kind of like grandpa's dentures when they slip down. :(

It will be interesting to see where this concept goes in the future....
