Last night while changing my spark plugs on my 1976 I broke one of the wire caps so now I am going to change the plug wires. Anyone have any adivce on what kind to use, it does not look to hard to replace, just route them in the holdes/covers but I would appreciate any knowledge anyone has. Thanks

Accel, MSD, Mallory, Moroso, Delco, Taylor, any of the the top brand name wires will perform well on most street engines. Just make sure if you order them online that you order the correct ones for your application, most places will not take them back once they been opened.

Thanks, I plan on getting them at the parts store. Another question, I am missing the bottom part of the plug wire shielding that covers the dist and the wires the parts that cover the dist and that go down the sides of the block are here and intact but the 3 or 4 pieces that the vertical parts hook to on the bottom of the block are missing. How important are these?

I am changing my plug leads aswell and have bought the flame thrower leads. I am not going to route my leads in the same way as stock, but I have bought a lead seperator set and the posts that connect to your valve covers. I think this looks much better and neater than stock and make the leads look a feature.

These pieces were designed to reduce ignition noise through your radio. If you don't have problem noe, and don't care about orignality, then don't worry.

Thanks, I don't think I will worry about them, the Radio works great and most of the shielding is in place. I like the look of it all crome and it keeps the wires out of the way. Although I did consider what Pauld is doing by making the wires a center piece but I think I will go with orginalitity. Thanks for your help, I will let you know how it comes out. Pauld if you can post some pics of your's after you get the wires on I would love to see them. Thanks

I will post some pics once if have completed it, will have done it by this weekend.

Just finished and I can see why the option to use non stock post and route the wires over the valve covers is popular, I never had to work so hard on a set of plug wires, mine were actually run between the engine mount and the block, I had to cut the wires to remove them, I did not put them back that way. I did run them in the channel that is bloted to the side of the block. What a way to run plug wires, but the engine sure runs better now.
