Spark Plug wires

Hello Forum,

I have tried to search threads to no avail looking for spark plug wires for my 85 that are exact to the ones I have now. They have the ....excuse my language ...small nipples on the top with the cylinder numbers that mate with the snap ring on top of my distributor. I have a disk with all part numbers that I cant match to any website having either AC Delco...or original GM parts lists....and Ecklers (phone support)will not guarantee these features....only that they are made for the corvette.......has anyone purchased these wires and can confirm they are what I am looking for? I am sorry if this information is available in another thread, I dont wish to muddy the water with another waste of server space....Thanks for any help Geoff

The issue we have at hand here is the fact that they're 20 year old style wires. In the time since those wires were issued, they're probably not made like that anymore because something more technologically advanced has come along. I honestly don't know what you're talking about in terms of the nipples, my stock wires are long gone.:L But I think that's the reason why you can't find them. There's simply something that's come out that is better.

Thanks for the answer.....I knew for a while I needed wires, and the wires provided for my car from the local parts store did not fit correctly at all.....they were the right length to make it to the right spots....just were not at all the same distributor end boot design. I just thought that considering the desire by many to have exact replacement parts.....for restoration projects and the like....an exact duplicate would exist somewhere. Wishful thinking I guess...None the less, I appreciate the quick response. Geoff

The MSD Helicore wires have the nipples on the boot that will fit your distributor ring. They are grey with blue wires.

Can you post a pic of what you're looking for? I think there are several wire sets with the nipples, but I'm not aware of any that are numbered any longer. Did you check the dealership?

MSD Heli-Coil and Super Conductors have the "nipples" you're looking for. Also, Moroso Blue Max wires (what I use and sell) also have these. If you're looking for an "exact fit" set, most of those don't "exactly fit" :L

I prefer the trim to fit Blue Max wires, as you can custom tailor each individual wire for exact fit. If you go this route, don't forget the shrink sleeves. Moroso makes the shrink sleeves with numbers imprinted so you know where each one goes.
