Probly a bad speed sensor in the tail shaft housing of the transmission!:thumb

Won't it trip a code if that happens?

Does your cruse control still work???:confused:confused:confused

Depending the problem with it,it may or may not trip a code!:thumb
Standard shift,Probly not! Electronic Automatic Transmission (4L60E) Probly pop a Transmission problem code, but not necessarily illuminate the MIL!(Malfunction Indicator Light) Thats why it's better to use a full range scanner rather than a paper clip!;););)

Or the plug has come off the VSS
Thats possible,but I've rarely seen it,!!:thumb
Corroded wiring plug connection! It Happens!:thumb:thumb
Bad VSS,I've replaced several!:thumb:thumb:thumb
Burnt/Shorted/Open wire to VSS from getting against the Hot exhaust,I've repaired a few!:thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb
Steel particles from standard transmission gears collecting to the VSS and Relucter Ring Teeth on output shaft of transmission,(Not allowing VSS to count teeth!) I've dumped the lubricant cleaned VSS and relucter, flushed the transmission and replaced the lubricant!! Fixed several,Not so much on a automatic, the only difference in a automatic transmission and a milling machine is about .012 thousandths :L:L:L,if they have enough steel particles in them to mask the relucter teeth, there usually not moving!!:thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb
