I am doing a "Corvette Spotter" project and have come to the C6.

What, if any, exterior details differentiate the various C6 years?

Different badges / emblems, the tail pipes, that sort of thing. I am mostly looking for external differences since this is a "Spotter's Guide" but interior will do.

For example, I am aware that the 2005 had a four spoke steering wheel and subsequent years featured a three spoke wheel.

All comments / help is appreciated. Thanks!

The '05s had that ugly Onstar antenna on the rear deck...

'05/06/07 got different standard wheels compared to the '08 and later.
The early C6s got the 5-spoke wheel in satin, comp-gray or chrome and the spokes narrowed from the center out.
The '08 and later standard wheel (satin and comp-gray) is a 10-spoke wheel and the chrome 5-spoke wheels got thicker spokes from center to rim.

Then through in the different ZO6 wheels, ZR1 wheels and 427 Vert wheels and you can really go nuts.

If someone changes out the wheels, you'll never know.

Then you can sort out the ZO6 .vs. ZR1 .vs. Grand Sport .vs 427 Vert fenders and spoilers.
And then there are some former narrow body cars with wide body fenders added.

Your right it was ugly, too bad they placed it on such an awesome car!!

So was the '05 the only Corvette afflicted in this manner?

Yes, for '06 the Onstar antenna was moved to a box at the top of the windshield on the passenger side in the black area.

Didn't the 2006 - 2009s have those stupid little GM badges behind the doors near the bottom of the rear quarters.

Yah, I think they were called the "Chicklets", like the gum... :chuckle

On automatic transmission cars, the '05s still used the shifter from the C5 and also carried over the 4-speed.

The 2005s were available in two versions of Yellow: Millenium yellow early in the year; Velocity Yellow in the latter and on through 2013.

"GM has a better idea." NOT! That big black plastic box stuck inside the upper right passenger side of the windshield is just plain old fugly.
