For the first time ever, both of the General Motors plants in the Nashville area are set to take part in building the iconic Chevrolet Corvette sports car.
When the seventh-generation model makes its debut late this summer, it will have front and rear body sections made in GM’s Spring Hill plant, while the vehicle itself will come from the Corvette assembly plant in Bowling Green, Ky.
This is the first time the Spring Hill plant has contributed to any Corvette model, plant spokeswoman Lee Ann Williams-Maley said.
“We will be making the front and rear fascias and sending them up to Bowling Green,” she said.
