I just replaced the front bushings and kingpins in my 60 and some of them squeak. My thought was that they are not getting greased. I've removed the grease fittings and check for grease flowing through them. It all looks good to me. Is there something else i could do to stop the squeaks?
thanks

JohnZ,
re: leaking water pump..... I reinstalled the frame plate and the water pump, this time with a dowel pin thru the plate and into the block to keep it all straight. so far so good. thanks again for the idea!

You shouldn't have any squeaks if all the joints are getting grease; are you sure you greased all of them? If I remember, there are about 8 on each side, not counting the tie rod ends and the drag link. One on each end of the upper and lower inners, one on the upper outer, one on the lower outer, and two at the kingpin. Grease the snot out of them, drive it 10-20 miles, then grease them all again and make sure you see excess grease coming out at each joint. All those bushings are metal-to-metal, and they need grease.

problem solve

The problem turned out to be 2 grease fittings being clogged!!...sometimes it is the simplest things that are over looked. oh well... thanks again JohnZ, you put on the right track.
