Stainless Steel --HELP!!

I have tried to polish my under the hood wheel well covers and intake manifole cover. I had a c-5 emblim on the intake cover and it got scratched,and I couldn't get to the little scratches. So I took it off. Now I got more scratches. I tried to polish it today. I took a polishing pad and a drill,and used some Winall polish. Didn't help the scratches,now I have clouds too . Any help would really be appreciated.

Check out Eastwood Company Les, they've got everything you'll need for finishing metal. They should have descriptive examples, such as yours, as well.

believe it or not I have found that Mother's aluminum polish (paste in the round can) works pretty well on stainless steel.
I use it to polish my exhaust & mufflers regularly. Use a couple coats.
