Steering Rack Seal Kit

Hello,

My 85 z51 rack has been leaking. Otherwise it works fine. I took it out (redoing all suspension to urithane bushings and such), but can't seem to find a seal kit for it. Local GM dealer said its discontinued, but gave me pn# 88998917.

Any idea if I can get one anywhere? It leaked out of a couple of spots, so was thinking of taking that section apart, matching up the 0-rings with a new one, replacing and adding lucas stop leak. What do you guys think?

Any other options?

I'd look at NAPA. Otherwise do some search time on the net. That's how I found the booster diapharam I got. Almost everyone just rolls over and gets a reman'd rack. If the inner tierods are good on yours and it's tight over all keep looking and you will find the seals. Industral gearbox places might be able to help you out.
