Sticking Gas Pedal

Just got the 35th Anniversary Edition back Friday and started working around on it. Some small problems that probably resulted from the thing sitting on the lot for six months. One thing I have noticed is the gas pedal seems to hesitate or stick before engaging. That makes for "jackrabbit" starts. In trying to trace down the linkage the only thing I could find to oil was the linkage on the throttle body near the idle adjustment screw. That did not help.

Any suggestions? Sadly, I am not really much of a mechanic.

Thanks,

bp

Had a similiar problem on my other car. Checked brake pedal, cable, etc., turned out to be the butterflys rubbing on the inside of the throttle body........:crazy

Thanks Rabbit, guess that could be the problem. Makes sense. Did you replace the throttle body, or how did you resolve the problem?

Throttle body cleaner from your local parts store. Spray and wipe. Best cleaning is with the throttle body off the car and in your hand as you can clean the back side also. See if that helps.

Oakie,
Fortunately for me it was replaced under warranty.:m

Thanks guys, guess that will be on my "to do" list, along with a few other tweaks...
