stock crank and stock rods with ARP bolts and forge pistons.
Will that handel 420hp and 6000rpm?

You might be pushing the envelope at 420 hp, but six grand ain't hard for a stock crank. What kind of torque numbers are you talking?

Which engine? I was told recently (while researching parts) that the LT1 crank and rods are the same as what's in the ZZ4 crate motor and that's built to handle 430 hp easily. That's the way I'm going, I think. And forged pistons (TRW) and ARP Wavelock bolts.

Sure will. I spin to 6300 rpms and make about 450hp (gotta get back on the dyno with the new exhaust to confirm it) without a problem. Plus my motor was built for n2o @ 175hp shot max.

So that equals about 625 flywheel hp. But I have never used n2o.....

That power level is no big deal on your stock crank and rods.

*BUT*

The machine work
Fuel requirements
Correct Timming curve

Those 3 things will kill your engine in a heartbeat if they're off.

I could not agree more. My engine builder told me that if and when I run the 175hp shot of n2o my tune better be on the money because if it starts knocking then its gonna blow.

8388 is rite on the money, Pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO HIS FOOTNOTES!!!!!!!!! And Dont free-rev or miss a gear, or you WILL find out what weak part WAS!!!! HAVE FUN & INJOY!!!!!!!:D :D
