can someone tell me the stock cam size for my 89 L-98. Looking to upgrade, but I dont know what I have now. Also if you know of a good size and brand feel free to give some info.

Just changing your cam without doing anything else is a waste of money... Figure out your budget, how you want the car to run (low-end torque vs high-end hp vs mix of both), and people here can make recommendations.

I myself am going with mostly Accel parts (though sold through Lingenfelter). SuperRam intake and base and 74219 cam, plus Pro Topline heads and Crane rocker arms. I wanted to keep the low-end torque, which is one reason I wanted the SuperRam. For high-end HP, people seem to like either the MiniRam, Stealth Ram, or a modified LT1 intake. Cams vary for these by application...

Well I want to install a 383 crank. Dont know about that yet, I just pulled the engine today. I want a little more ump. I will still use the stock heads and intake. My budget isnt that fat. If you or anyone have some good tips they will gladly be taken. rrubel, I guess a little of both would be great. thanks for helping

stock cam is like 202/206 at .050"

in keeping the stock intake, i would go with TPiS ZZ9 or Accel 211
