Well, title pretty much says it ;). Maybe you can provide a newbie with some simple advice.

Thanks

I take it you're talking about the front cover. Look in the gap between the bottom of the cover and bumper, you should see two small screws (mine are phillips). Use a thin screwdriver to remove them and the cover will slip out :beer

Welcome to CAC and that is the way to tke it off

Be very carefull!!!

There isn't much space and you are doing it in the blind. So be patient. If you haven't tried yet let me know and l will go out to my garage and see how it's actually done.

For some reason l had a hard time with mine. And l had to use a Torx screwdriver unless that was for my plate.

Thanks for the replies. I figured there had to be some trick as I didn't want to just start pulling. Probably will try it here later or tomorrow before the race.

Thanks

Just got it done! Wasn't bad at all, but I am glad you mentioned the torx, I doubt I would have noticed that in the dark garage. Happened to grab the right torx in the MESS of tools. Appreciate it.

Don't feel bad about asking this question. The stupid thing would be to not ask and then end up breaking something. It has been said somewhere that there are no stupid questions - just stupid answers.
Welcome to CAC where most answers are not stupid. Lots of help for new and old alike.

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center!! We are here to help and to guide you buying aftermarket parts, yes, you will!

Welcome to CAC. I see you are at Sioux FAlls. I am 50 miles east get there all the time. Are you going to join the corvette club there ? Keep an eye out for a red 90 convertible with Iowa plates crusing in sioux falls this summer. :D
Don't forget to wave.
:w

Yes, I will probably join. Thinking about hitting the BHCC, but as I am only 21, may not be the crowd for me?? ;shrug I will sure keep an eye out for you. It was about 50 here yesterday, so I was able to take the vette out. Can't beat that at the end of February!

I don't think age has anything to do with the Black Hills cruise. Don't know if you have been to the hot summer nights. That is pretty cool. All those vettes downtown. I won't make the cruise this yr but hope to next yr. Right now the Vette is up on stands.. rearend being changed to Royal Purple , trans getting changed to synthetic oil. New intake gasket due to oil leaks. And last but not least getting rid of the mufflers with some stainless pipe and tips. I have to get with it so it is done when all the salt and sand is off the roads.
I thought you could get by without the front plate in SD ?? I see SD cars on highway 9[headed for the lakes] all the time with no front plates. ;shrug

:w

You are probably right regarding age.... we all have vettes right?? Anyway, I believe we need a front plate, as my friend has been written warnings several times in his Camaro without one? :L Good luck on completing the work, I am starting a looong process of mod research to eventually end in mid 11's streetable. Not only parts, but who to port heads... best results... cams.... THE LIST GOES ON!
