Until last night, the 502 would drip down quite a little puddle of engine oil from the rear of the pan after just a few minutes of running.
You may remember that we switched to a Moroso 6-quart (U.S.
) kick-out pan which, frankly, didn't fit too well from the beginning.
After convincing it to fit (dremmel; ball peen at the front corners) I figured -- problem solved. It wasn't. Although the rear appeared to fit properly, it leaked down in just an hour or so after running.
With the able assistance of Fuelie and Z28Canuck (thanks), we got the center link out of the way, the pan drained and dropped, and a new gasket and silicone sealant installed last night.
After my 20-minute drive today, NO LEAKS! :Twist Lesson learned "again". High-heat silicone in the tube the first time.

Now, I realize that you're all blasé about driving these wonderful old cars around the streets, but remember, it's been many, many years since I've had ol' 67HEAVEN out.
The reaction from the populace during my drive today was priceless. :J
