I have a 1965 convertible that is a numbers matching car. I was told that it was original. I would like to have it judged for survivor certification.

I know some items are not original and that doesn't bother me as the judging will help point out areas that I can work on. What does bother me is that I was told that the judging process for survivors was limited to 1 or 2 tries. What is the real scoop. I plan on going to Bloomington Gold to have it done.

My '73 was Survivor-certified in 2000. The car needed to be more than 50% original, unrestored, or unmodified in 3 of 4 areas - interior, exterior, engine compartment, chassis. My judges consisted of a team that were mostly NCRS judges...they were informative and personable, just as the St. Louis regional judges were when she was Second-Flighted. It was my first try, and I was well-educated and pleased.
