I have a '77 corvette. I've been under the assumption that the dimmer switch for my car is supposed to be a stomp switch on the floor, because that's what's there now. According to what I've read the dimmer switch for '77's were on the column and shared the same lever as the blinkers. Upon investigation, I noticed that my blinker switch allows me to move the lever towards me, but it never clicks. Almost like the switch it's self is broke. Also, the 3 wires from the dimmer switch on the floor appears to go up and just be spliced in to a bundle of wires with a plug, which is not plugged up, on the end. So I came the the conclusion that somewhere along the way the original dimmer switch broke and rather than fixing it, they just put one on the floor and spliced it in. Does this sound right, the dimmer switch is supposed to be on the column of 77's? On a side note, my cruise control doesn't work either. Anyway does anyone know what part I might to to look at replacing in the column that would make my dimmer switch work? I'm note sure what I'm going to end up replacing but I thought I'd gather some ideas before I started ripping the thing apart. Thanks, TC
