My tachometer needle parks itself around 1500 rpm when I shut down the engine. Returns to normal when engine is turned on.
Is this something that I should be concerned about?
Thank you

as long as it works when the engine is running,I wouldn't worry about it.

Bill's right though. :thumb

FWIW- Mine will float up to around 800rpm when it is turned off. No big deal. I have validated with the car hooked up to a laptop during datalogging that the tach reported RPMs are pretty close to what is being reported by the ECM to the laptop.

x3..
Try this: Rev the engine to 2000 and shut it off.. Hangs at 2000.. Until you start it again. Not a worry.. :)
