Tach or Speedo Sounds that are weird

Suddenly at exactly 49 mph I get an electronic? chhhchhhchhh noise at this speed only. At that speed theres's no way to describe it unless it's heard. The passenger can't hear it unless considerable effort. Aren't these gauges electronic nowadays? Any ideas at all from anybody?

Hmmmm - you are correct, there is no mechanical drive for the speedo or tach, so it is not that -

First thing I though was the torque converter lockup solenoid, but it seems from your post that the noise comes from the instrument cluster.

It'll be interesting to se what you find out -

Do you have your radio on when this happens? If so, and you turn the radio off, does the sound go away? If it does, then you know where the sound is coming from, but I don't know what would cause it. Sounds like a trip to the dealer would be necessary.

Another possibility is the rear view mirror or perhaps a drivers side window that does not have a perfect seal.
