tach question

Wanted to change out my gear driven tach with electronic. May have found a 1978 tach. Will that be a direct replacement for my 74? I can't remeber what a 78 tach lookes like.

78 has a different dash. Will need a 75-77 tach.

Ditto TOM73 ... that's been my understanding. I got a 75 tach to retrofit my 71 ... BUT ... I haven't yet installed.

Thought it was 2 good 2 be true. Knew they changed the dash, thought that was 79, glad I asked! Tom, think you need to write a book, your so helpfull...
