the tach on my 75 is not working. Is there any easy way to troubleshoot. I do not want to pull the dash and install a new circuit board and find out it was not the problem. Anyone have any experience with this?

My tack on my 80 stopped working. I pulled the circuit board, cleaned the contacts on the back of the tack and circuit board, and the tack worked perfectly.

If Your tach isn't working it's probably the board. whether dirty or burnt, like mine was, you'll have to take out the tach to get to the board, sorry, I feel your pain, I had to pull it twice.

Only one thing to check before you pull the instrument housing. Check the connection of the tack at the distributor. It could have worked lose. Other than that, your pulling the tach.

thanks for the tips. I found that the tach wire had come loose of the filter. bypassed the filter and the tach works. But does not go to 0 when the engine is off and it is idling at about 2,000 rpm, so I still have a calibration problem.

Calibration on the 75.........you have to hook the tach to a 12v bat, gently pull the needle off and put it back on the post at zero. Sorry dude, you have to pull the tach housing to get the needle.
