Tach won't work

After working on the car last night I left the keys in the ignition and drained the battery. I jumped started it this morning with no problems, but the tach is pegged out past 7000 rpms and speedometer does not seem to work. Hard to tell just driving 20 feet in the driveway. Tapping on the cover the speedometer will jump a little but the tach is frozen. Any suggestions?

Check your fuses first.

Gave it a good hard rev and the tach started working again so I imagine the speedo will work to.

Your tach is electronic, and your speedo is mechanical. Draining the battery cannot affect the speedo.
